The only detraction I found was the dumbing-down of the Polynesian culture of the game to suit the 1930's white explorer trope. You may find that retracing your steps is necessary because explorable areas can be quite large, and you will uncover minor-seeming clues that collectively give you the answer, If you find a puzzle unsolvable, you may find that you have missed or overlooked a clue, so be patient, explore and invest your time in discovery! Lovecraft and Jules Verne, the mysteries are suspenseful, but not horrifying, and are readily solvable if you are prepared to interact with the objects that surround you. Along the way you discover why the island is avoided by local Polynesians, despite being covered with ancient Polynesian buildings, festooned with pounamu, and lots of ti'i, toʻo and murals - that actually look very Mayan in style.
